Mancini To Have Full Squad To Choose From!
Next Mondays Manchester Derby is set to be the biggest in both of the clubs histories, with the winner surely going on to win the Premier League title.
If City are to once again get the better of United for a second time this season and move level on points with them in the table, then they will need their full strength squad available for Mancini to pick the best team.
Apparently, Mancini is waiting to assess the form and fitness of Yaya Toure and Micah Richards who have both been instrumental all season for the blues. It has been said that Mancini didn’t think Toure was at his best in City’s win at Wolves on Sunday, but surely he has to be one of the first names on the team sheet! He has the pace, power, strength and skill to dominate a game as he has done on numerous occasions this season, and is a real threat going forward and at set pieces.
I have been often surprised to see Micah Richards on the bench at times this season too. He is another strong and powerful player who drives the whole team and is always a threat going forward and solid at the back. He is currently fighting to get fit after a hamstring strain caused him to miss the weekends game, but you would think that if he is fit, he will play in the derby.
Mario Balotelli is also back from suspension so Mancini will most likely have a full squad to pick from which will be a huge plus for him. You would think that the team almost picks its self, but don’t be surprised to see Mancini mix things up a little bit.

The Biggest Manchester Derby Ever!
The Manchester derby next Monday night is being billed as the biggest ever in both clubs history, and I have to agree. For me there is no doubt about it! It is a title decider. If City win they will go onto win it, but if United can get a draw I think they will wrap it up too. The game is huge!
Mancini of course is playing the game down once again and as labelled it as ‘just one more game’ but he can say that all he likes, we all know how big the game is and there is no escaping that.
In contrast to Sir Alex Ferguson, Mancini seems to be undermining the game, and this is in a bid to keep the pressure off his players as he watched them falter in March and the beginning of April when the pressure for them to be champions was at its most intense.
The derby is always the game of the season, and despite Ferguson claiming that he saw the Manchester United and Liverpool as more of a fierce derby, I don’t think he will be saying the same thing after Monday night.
It will be a clash of two great teams with everything to play for. The fact that City need a win means that they will probably go all out to get a goal, and with the form Aguero and Tevez are in at the moment, they have a strong chance of doing that.
There have been a number of memorable meetings over the last couple of years since City were injected with that cash boost. The 4-3 United win at Old Trafford where Michael Owen scored a 95th minute winner will live long in the memory, as will the community shield last summer and of course City’s 6-1 win at Old Trafford, and Mondays night has even more makings for an absolute classic!

Can United Compete With City’s Billions?
Gone are the days when Manchester United used to be the Premier Leagues money powerhouse. They might be the richest club in the world in terms of revenue, but In the last few years we have seen the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City being injected with Billions of pounds which means they now hold the upper hand when it comes to transfers.
It is an issue that will hurt Manchester United fans in particular as they see their rivals lifted from the bottom of the Premier League and turned into one of the biggest clubs in the world literally over night. But it is interesting to see that Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected the theory that next Monday’s Manchester derby represents a collision between passion and money.
Despite Manchester United opening up an eight point gap over City just 2 weeks ago, they have since dropped five crucial points, and now the Manchester Derby at the Etihad stadium on Monday night is the biggest in the history of both clubs, with just three points separating them!
The match promises to be a fascinating duel, far more than a battle between the established elite and City’s nouveaux riche excesses. But apparently Ferguson doesn’t agree. The Manchester United boss acknowledges that City have become rich in an incredible way but says, “it’s not the fact there is a new owner and new ambitions which necessarily change things. The difference is perhaps that we’re trying to build with youth.”
So as City turn to their bank balance for players, it seems like Manchester United are focusing on developing youth more than ever as they know they simply can’t compete with City in the transfer market. This might be the case in the future, but if Manchester Untied can still continue to win their rivals and Premier League titles, they will always have bigger pulling power than anyone else in the league!
